Business Port Stephens’ vision is to connect, promote, encourage, maintain and support its members, who represent a broad range of businesses from small enterprises to leading corporations across the Port Stephens local government area.
We achieve this vision through regular networking and education events for members, a strong communication and engagement program, and advocating on behalf of member and local business interests.
Business Port Stephens has strong governance and transparent leadership practices, and positive relationships with key stakeholders such as Port Stephens Council, Destination Port Stephens and all levels of government to represent a strong independent voice for business in our region.

Business Port Stephens has more than 250 members and is the largest business association in the local government area. We’re proud to have won the Hunter Business Chamber’s best local chamber award in 2019 and 2018, in recognition of our strong membership growth, unique programs and outcomes achieved for local business.
We carefully develop events for members and potential new members that foster networking opportunities, encourage business growth, support professional development and drive the production of local businesses. Our events attract business and community stakeholders, including member and non member businesses, young professionals, industry experts, strategic partners, community associations and government leaders.
The Port Stephens LGA is a significant economic hub – home to a diverse industry base and a number of major strategic centres, including:
Port Stephens is also a major regional tourist destination, attracting on average 1.3 million visitors per year. This is linked to our unique natural environment, including the Worimi Conservation Lands (the largest moving coastal sand dunes in the southern hemisphere), the Port Stephens – Great Lakes Marine Park and the Tomaree National Park.
Federal and State Governments recognise the area as a regional economic driver and significant investment continues for major projects, including urban development, town centre rejuvenation, educational facilities, and tourism, environmental and roads projects.
Port Stephens people are justifiably proud of where they live. Our sense of place is inextricably linked to the area’s natural beauty and the lifestyle this affords, however, it’s our people who make Port Stephens such a special place.
